New Minister of Labour and Citizens' Services Appointed

Premier Gordon Campbell has appointed Olga Ilich as the new Minister of Labour and Citizens’ Services.

 

Ilich previously served as Minister of Tourism, Sports and the Arts. She was elected in the riding of Richmond Centre in 2005. Prior to being elected to the Legislative Assembly, she served as President of Suncor Development Corporation and was the executive vice president of Progressive Construction Limited.

 

Ms. Ilich’s appointment was announced on August 15, 2006, in conjunction with four other changes to the cabinet. Former Minister of Labour, Michael de Jong, has been appointed Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation. Tom Christensen is the new Minister of Children and Family Development. Stan Hagen is the new Minister of Tourism, Sports and the Arts. Gordon Hogg rejoins cabinet as the new Minister of State for ActNow BC, under the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts.
