Law Commission of Canada releases discussion paper on labour and employment laws

The Law Commission of Canada is an independent federal law reform agency that advises Parliament on how to improve and modernize Canada’s laws. In a recently released discussion paper entitled “Is Work Working? Work Laws That Do A Better Job”, the Commission examines how the nature of work has changed since the enactment of many of Canada’s labour and employment laws and how outdated laws may leave some workers inadequately protected.

The Commission is encouraging public comment on the discussion paper. Feedback will help inform future research and consultation, and will assist the Commission in preparing a final report to Parliament.
