Bill 18 received second reading in the BC Legislature today. Named Skills Development and Labour Statutes Amendment Act, 2001, Bill 18 will:
• restore mandatory representation votes for certification
• make education an essential service
• end sectoral bargaining in the construction industry
• amend the Pension Benefits Standards Act.
