Skills Development and Fair Wage Repeal Act Given Royal Assent

The Skills Development and Fair Wage Repeal Act was given Royal Assent on August 27. The repeal of the BC Skills Development and Fair Wage Act comes into force thirty days from August 27 2001 and will remove restrictions on free tendering of publicly funded construction projects. The BC government has indicated its intention to re-tender construction projects that are not contracted on the date the Act comes into force, in accordance with section 4 of the Act..
