The Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 2002 (Bill 11) has been given third reading and proclaimed in force. Introduced March 14, 2002, it is an omnibus bill amending a number of provincial statutes, including the recently enacted Health and Social Services Delivery Improvement Act (Bill 29), which came into force January 28, 2002. Bill 29 contained an amendment to the Health Authorities Act, which restored separate bargaining units for the Health Services and Support Community and Facilities subsectors. The amendment in Bill 11 identifies the correct Labour Relations Board decision which the Labour Relations Board must reference in approving articles of association for the bargaining unit (BCLRB No. B73/98), and extends from 30 to 90 daysthe time available to the Board to restore the units.
