Minister of Health Writes Open Letter to BCMA

May 10, 2002
Share

The Minister of Health has written an open letter to the BC Medical Association (BCMA) with a proposal to resolve the current dispute between the provincial government and doctors. He proposes that the parties agree to an independent accounting expert to review costs, and a three person dispute resolution panel to resolve outstanding issues. The panel would be without prejudice to any future negotiations related to dispute resolution mechanisms. The panel resembles an arbitration board with a chair to be appointed by the Chair of the Labour Relations Board in the event the parties are unable to agree on a chair.
