Bill 32, the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement Implementation Act was recently introduced and given first reading in the legislature. If passed, the Bill will enable BC to exercise its rights and fulfill its commitments under the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA) signed between BC and Alberta.
The TILMA is designed to remove barriers to the movement of goods, services, investment and workers between the two provinces. The rules and provisions of TILMA are scheduled to be fully implemented on April 1, 2009.
