Harris is pleased to announce that Alyssa Paez has joined the firm as an associate.
Alyssa began working at Harris in 2017 as an articled student. Prior to joining Harris, Alyssa worked as a Review Officer (Student Intern) at WorkSafeBC. During law school, Alyssa volunteered as a legal intern for Battered Women Support Services and was the coordinator for a mentorship program for the Allard School of Law’s Centre for Feminist Legal Studies. She also completed the Judicial Externship Program, where she was an intern to judges of the Provincial Court of British Columbia.
Alyssa advises clients on employment issues including wrongful dismissals and employment contracts, and has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She has also assisted employers in resolving labour disputes in unionized environments.
We look forward to the many contributions Alyssa will make to our practice. Welcome Alyssa!
British Columbia is observing a Day of Mourning today in response to the heartbreaking events in Tumbler Ridge earlier this week and we invite our community to honour the lives lost and stand alongside everyone affected.
Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims, the students and staff at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, the first responders, and the broader Tumbler Ridge community.
Resources, guidance for supporting conversations with children, a donation link, and a public condolence book can be found at gov.bc.ca/TumblerRidge.
