October 12, 2000

The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that the delay in hearing the sexual harassment complaints against Robin Blencoe did not breach his right to life, liberty and security of person under section 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Court ordered that the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal should proceed with the hearing of the Complaint on its merits. The decision overturns the previous ruling of the BC Court of Appeal.
