Study Published re Creation of False Memories

A research study recently published by the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition how false memories can be created. Among other phenomena, the authors studied the way in which erroneous inferences made while experiencing an event can later be mistaken for memories of the actual event. The study may be important in questioning and assessing the reliability and accuracy of evidence honestly given by witnesses.
