New minimum wages now in effect

Effective September 15, 2017, the general minimum wage in British Columbia has increased by 50 cents to $11.35 per hour. The minimum wage for liquor servers has similarly increased by 50 cents to $10.10 per hour.

The minimum wage increase will affect approximately 94,000 workers in British Columbia. Affected employers are encouraged to review their payroll practices in order to ensure they comply with the new minimum wages.
