Human Rights Law

Our lawyers provide advice and representation in human rights matters. In particular, we are regularly involved in:

• Advising on interpretation and application of provincial and federal human rights statutes and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms;
• Conducting investigations into human rights complaints and assisting in the mediation of disputes;
• Preparing written submissions to human rights tribunals;
• Acting as advocates before the Canada and B.C. Human Rights Tribunals as well as appeal bodies;
• Developing employer policies concerning human rights including: sexual harassment; accommodation; and access to services;
• Appearing as counsel in discrimination grievances; and
• Developing and presenting seminars and training sessions to employees, supervisors and managers on human rights issues.
