Education Law

We are the recognized leader in school law in British Columbia, representing and advising most public school boards in the province on all aspects of school law. We also provide advice to both public schools and post-secondary institutions on a variety of matters related to education, labour, human rights and privacy law.

In our public school board practice, Harris & Company has been involved in matters ranging from negotiating and interpreting collective agreements to handling grievances and complaints under collective agreements and employment standards statutes. We also represent clients in enforcing essential services legislation and assist with ongoing issues during strikes and picketing activities.

Our post-secondary institution practice has involved advising on faculty-staff relations, human rights and harassment claims, managing the collective agreement negotiation and interpretation processes, and representing clients during job actions and other forms of labour and employment disputes.
