A founding partner of Harris & Company, Wendy received a B.A. and LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and an M.A. from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1980. She became Queen's Counsel in 2008.

Appearing as legal counsel for school boards on a full range of education law matters, Wendy acts as counsel before labour arbitration boards, human rights tribunals, the Labour Relations Board, and trial and appellate courts. As well, she is legal counsel for HEABC and Healthcare Benefit Trust on disability claims and related matters.

Wendy has been actively involved in education law issues provincially and nationally. She has been a frequent presenter at seminars and conferences, including those held by the British Columbia Public School Employers' Association, British Columbia School Trustees Association, Ministry of Education, the University of British Columbia, the Continuing Legal Education Society, the Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law in Education (CAPSLE), and numerous school boards and organizations representing school personnel. She has served as a President and Executive Board Member of CAPSLE, a national organization studying education law issues. She is the author of numerous papers and articles on legal issues involving schools and is currently teaching education law at the University of British Columbia.
