A partner of Harris & Company, Scott received a B.A. (Honours) in Criminology from Simon Fraser University in 1998. Scott's Honours thesis focused on the relationship between the Workers' Compensation Board and employers in BC. He received his law degree from University of British Columbia in 2002. Scott was a Project Manager and Estimator for a demolition company in Vancouver from 1996 to 2002. He started an asbestos removal company to work in conjunction with the demolition company. Both ventures were successful and provided him with invaluable experiences.
Scott provides clients with day to day advice in all areas of labour, employment, human rights and workers’ compensation law. Scott has experience appearing before arbitration boards and a variety of administrative tribunals. He has also appeared as counsel in the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Scott acts for a broad spectrum of clients, including employers involved in the areas of construction, manufacturing, health care, small business, accounting, and food service. As a member of the Aboriginal Employment Law Practice Group, he provides legal advice and policy development for a number of Aboriginal employers in British Columbia and to Self Governing First Nations in the Yukon. He started with Harris & Company as an articling student in 2002 and joined us as an associate in May 2003. Scott is called to the bar in both BC and the Yukon and is a member of the Labour, Employment, Human Rights and Aboriginal Law subsections of the Canadian Bar Association.
Scott is an avid rugby fan and player and was formerly Vice President and Captain of the UBC Law Rugby Team.
