Lou received her law degree from the University of Victoria in 2009. In her final year at law school, she participated in the school's clinical program, the Law Centre, where she dealt with employment and human rights matters. While at UVic, Lou was awarded the Harper Grey LLP Scholarship, the Nash & Company Scholarship in Evidence and the J. Lyle Wilson Book Prize in Law.

Prior to attending law school, Lou received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo. Lou also attended Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts and spent many years honing her skills in Whistler and Victoria's fine dining establishments.

Lou began working at Harris & Company as an articled student in May of 2009 and, after being called to the Bar in BC, became an associate with the firm in May of 2010. Lou advises clients on a wide range of employment and labour matters.

In her free time, Lou cooks for her friends, skis, camps and spends as much time as she can enjoying the West Coast with her dog, Hadley.
