Kacey was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2002, and practised employment and labour law and commercial litigation at a national law firm in Vancouver before joining Harris & Company in May 2006. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 1997 and her law degree from Queen's University in 2001.

A partner at Harris & Company, Kacey's practice is focused on both labour and employment matters. She has assisted federal and provincial clients with all aspects of the employment relationship, including wrongful dismissal and privacy issues. She has experience with labour and human rights matters, as well as general civil litigation. Kacey has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as the British Columbia Labour Relations Board, the Canada Industrial Relations Board and British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal.

Kacey has authored and co-authored papers and articles on employment and labour law related topics, for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, the Advocate and the Human Resources Management Association. She has given numerous presentations on employment and labour law topics. Kacey is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Human Resources Management Association.
