Paul McLean has been reappointed to the national executive of the Employment Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association for the 2004-2005 year. The Employment Law Subsection meets regularly to discuss legal issues arising in non-unionized workplaces.

We are pleased to announce that Jamie Maclaren has joined Harris & Company as an Associate. Jamie received his B.A. [Honours] in Philosophy and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. Jamie was called to the Bar of British Columbia in August 2004 after articling with Harris & Company. Jamie is a member of the Labour Law and Human Rights subsections of the Canadian Bar Association.

We are pleased to announce that Dean Crawford has joined Harris & Company. Dean received his law degree from the University of Victoria in 1994 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1995.

He advises clients on a full range of workplace matters, including discipline and dismissal, labour relations, employment standards, human rights and workers' compensation.

Dean was formerly a political aide to a federal Minister of Justice and then Minister of Health, where he advised the Minister on law reform and regulatory matters.
