Our partner, our colleague, our friend
Our partner, colleague and friend Adam Albright passed away suddenly on March 5, 2005, in a tragic ski accident. His death at forty-four years of age is a great personal loss to everyone in our firm.
Adam attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1984. In 1986, he was called to the Ontario Bar, where he practised civil litigation and administrative law before the Ontario Supreme Court, Ontario Court of Appeal, and various administrative tribunals through to the fall of 1988. Adam was also a member of the Commission for the Inquiry into the Air Ontario Crash at Dryden, Ontario.
From 1988 to 1990, Adam attended the London School of Business and the University of British Columbia, and obtained an M.B.A. in 1990. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1990 and joined our firm in 1993. He had been practising employment and labour law before the courts and administrative tribunals of British Columbia.
Adam was a tenacious and competitive athlete who excelled at almost every sport he tried. He brought that spirit and energy into his law practice and had earned widespread respect as a fine advocate. He was a generous person who gave freely of his time and bountiful energy to his friends and the community. He was a cherished member of a close knit family. His loss is even more devastating to his parents, sister, two brothers, and their spouses and children.
It would be an understatement to say that Adam was well liked by everyone. He was a perpetually cheerful, caring and generous person. He brought sunlight into our midst on even the darkest days. We have been deluged by messages from clients he worked with telling us how much they enjoyed and appreciated his counsel, humour and friendship. He is greatly missed and will not be forgotten.

This past Holiday Season, Harris & Company sponsored two families through the YWCA’s Presents of Peace Campaign. This community program makes a difference in the lives of low income families and ensures that each family receives food and gift hampers to help make their Holiday Season special.
